Es bosc

This magnificent estate of 20,000 m2, with buildings which in total add 650 m2 (completion in 2012/2013), is located on the top of a cliff in the parish of Es Cubells belonging to the municipality of Sant Josep de sa Talaia on the island of Ibiza.

Its architecture is based on the Mediterranean tradition; its sequential arches interlink history, from Mesopotamia to Rome until the present; in the Middle Ages such a building element achieved a high technical development.

It covers a SSE 180-degree panoramic view of the island, from Cala Llentrisca to Las Salinas, in front of Formentera island, which is 10 nautical miles away; and in a 500-meter walk, we can find the chapel of Nuestra Señora del Carmen.

Indoors we can find some unique artwork of great artistic value:

  • A mudejar coffered ceiling and its skylight.
  • A collection of Coptic crosses.
  • A pair of 18th-century wardrobes from the reign of Philip V -the first Bourbon king in Spain-.
  • A chest collection, which includes a piece listed in the Patrimonio Artístico Nacional (Spanish artistic heritage).
  • An impressive mirror collection, an artistic trip from the 16th century until the 19th century.
  • A magnificent antique wooden library imitating the choir stalls of the dynasty Trastámara.
